Troubleshooting
Fix common issues.
Use this guide when the app cannot translate, import, export, browse the catalog, save keys, or launch correctly.
Translation
Provider and page failures
Missing API keyOpen Settings, add the provider key, test it, and retry one page before a batch.
Completes instantly but no text appearsCheck page status and history; retry failed pages and report if save verification says the translation did not save.
Malformed or too-short Local Gemma outputUse Gemini/cloud for the page or retry with a smaller/cropped input. Local Gemma remains Offline Beta.
Rate limit or timeoutReduce concurrency, retry later, or use a different provider.
Import and catalog
PDF or corpus issues
- If the catalog is missing, sync/publish the compact catalog before browsing on mobile.
- If the PDF preview is too small, use full-screen preview.
- If page selection controls are covered by the keyboard, dismiss the keyboard or use quick range buttons.
- If pages import upside down, rotate in the editor before translation and report the source PDF if it repeats.
Export
Reader PDF and sharing issues
- Review export preflight warnings before sharing.
- If export says wrong translation content, retranslate affected pages before export.
- If iPad share fails with sharePositionOrigin, update to the latest build and retry.
- If the PDF drops content, report the source PDF and exported PDF through support.
Crashes and stale builds
Check the build and install type.
- TestFlight/Home Screen should use release builds, not debug builds launched outside Xcode.
- Confirm visible app version/build in the app before reporting.
- If a build looks stale on Android, confirm the Play testing track has the newer version code and reinstall from Google Play.
- Use Health & Recovery before reset when possible.
Support
Send a safe report.
Use Send Debug Report when available. It should include version, device, provider readiness, database health, backup status, and failed action summaries, but not API keys, raw provider payloads, full translations, images, local paths, or backup ZIP contents.
